Attention young shooters!

As a club we are passionate about introducing new people to shooting and we regularly run open days and guest days to introduce new people to this amazing sport.

For this reason we have taken the decision to purchase a new ‘youth’ rifle which is specifically designed to be used by younger people while shooting, it is a single shot .22LR rifle and has a shorter stock so people of all sizes can safely use it.

We are often asked, how old do people need to be to shoot, we don’t have a set age at our club, we normally suggest around 10 or 11 but we have introduced younger people in the past, the two main things we look for are:

1) How mature is the shooter?
2) Is the shooter physically able to safely control a rifle?

This rifle will allow people who are mature enough to take part in our sport but aren’t large enough or physically strong enough to use an adult sized rifle to take their first steps into shooting.

If you or someone you know is interested in trying shooting, please send us a message and we would be happy to talk to you about next steps!

We are all very thankful to those that have stood up for our Country’s freedom, and the Whittlesey Rifle Club makes no exception in our Remembrance.

We unite with our town in Remebrance and reflect on both past and current commitments, as our Fenland town becomes awash with beautiful and meaningful poppies.

2020-03-28 Probationary Member Period

Please note that “Probationary Members” will not be unfairly affected by the COVID19 range closure.

Your membership timescales will be extended as not being able to attend is very different to not attending.

Please do keep an eye on our website and on social media for the latest news on when we are likely to re-open.

In the meantime, stay safe.
